Shopping Portals

Shopping portals are websites that let you earn rewards—like cashback, airline miles, or credit card points—just for clicking through their links before shopping online. Think of them as reward-boosting gateways to your favorite stores.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Log into a shopping portal (e.g. Rakuten, Capital One Shopping, or an airline’s portal).
  2. Find the store you want to shop at.
  3. Click the store link from the portal to start your shopping trip.
  4. Complete your purchase as usual.
  5. The portal tracks your visit and rewards you after the purchase.

Different portals may offer different rates for the same store, and the rates can change every day.

Savewise makes it easy to compare offers across multiple shopping portals instantly and their offer history over time to maximize your shopping rewards.

Savewise currently compares offers across 29 shopping portals, covering cashback programs, airline mileage portals, hotel loyalty portals, and bank reward programs. When you search for a store on Savewise, you see the best available rate from every portal that carries that merchant, all in one view. Portal rates change frequently, sometimes daily, so Savewise refreshes this data regularly to make sure you are always looking at current numbers.

You can track offer history for any store by visiting its merchant page on Savewise. Each store includes a historical chart that shows how cashback, miles, or points offers have changed over time across every shopping portal.

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Use the search bar to find the store you are interested in.
  2. Click on the store to open its merchant page.
  3. Scroll down to find the shopping portal you want to check.
  4. Click the View offer history button to see the trends from that portal.

This helps you decide if now is a good time to shop or if it is worth waiting for a better rate. For example, if Nike typically runs 10% cashback through Rakuten during holiday sales but is currently at 3%, you might want to hold off on that purchase.

  • Free accounts can view up to 14 days of history data
  • Pro accounts can view up to 18 months of history data

If you want to be notified when an offer increases instead of checking manually, you can set up an Offer Alert for that store. Offer alerts send you an email whenever a rate meets your specified criteria.

Offer Alerts let you set up automatic notifications so you know the moment a store increases its cashback, miles, or points offers on shopping portals. Instead of manually checking rates every day, you tell Savewise what you are looking for and it watches for you.

To create an alert, click Set Alert on any store page and configure the following:

  • Minimum offer threshold (e.g., notify me when cashback is at least 8%)
  • Offer type (cashback, miles, or points)
  • Portal(s) to monitor (one or more specific portals)
  • Expiration date for the alert

The next time that store's offers meet your criteria on any of the selected portals, you will automatically receive an email notification with the details.

This is especially useful for big purchases where a higher rate can make a meaningful difference. For example, setting an alert on a furniture store for 10%+ cashback could save you hundreds of dollars if you are willing to wait for the right moment.

Savewise provides 2 free offer alerts. Upgrade to Savewise Pro for unlimited alerts across all your favorite stores.

Card-Linked Offers

Card-linked offers are promotions tied directly to your credit or debit card. When you activate one and then make a qualifying purchase using that card, you automatically earn cashback, statement credits, or bonus points with no coupon codes or extra steps needed at checkout.

Here is how they work:

  1. Log in to your credit card account (e.g., Amex, Chase, or Citi).
  2. Browse available offers and activate the ones you want.
  3. Shop at the store using your linked card.
  4. The offer is automatically applied, and you will see the reward credited to your account.

Card-linked offers work both in-store and online. The best part is that they can usually be stacked with shopping portal rewards for extra value. For example, you could earn 5% cashback through a shopping portal and get an additional $15 statement credit from an Amex Offer on the same purchase.

Savewise makes it easy to find and use card-linked offers by:

  • Showing them next to shopping portal offers so you can spot stacking opportunities
  • Letting you sync offers from multiple banks in one place
  • Auto-activating card-linked offers across all your cards (with Savewise Pro)

Syncing your credit card offers with Savewise takes just a few minutes and lets you see all your available card-linked offers alongside shopping portal rates. This makes it easy to spot stacking opportunities where you can earn rewards from both a shopping portal and a card-linked offer on the same purchase.

To get started:

  1. Install the Savewise browser extension for Chrome, Safari, or Firefox.
  2. Visit the Card Offers Sync page and follow the guided setup for each of your banks.
  3. Savewise will import your available offers and display them on relevant merchant pages.

The sync process connects securely to your card issuer's offer programs. Savewise never sees or stores your bank login credentials. You only need to complete the initial setup once, and your offers will stay synced automatically going forward.

Currently, Savewise supports syncing offers from American Express, Chase, Citi, SimplyMiles, and Rakuten In-Store Offers. Support for additional banks is in development.

Yes, in most cases. If more than one of your American Express cards has been targeted for the same offer, Savewise attempts to activate the offer across all eligible Amex cards at once. This saves you from having to log in to each card individually and add offers one by one.

Please note that this feature relies on an unofficial integration with Amex, and may experience interruptions when Amex updates their systems. Our members have a 98% success rate with this feature, and we are constantly monitoring and updating the integration to keep it running smoothly. There may be occasional hiccups that are out of our control, but they are typically resolved quickly.

Here is an example of how this works:

Let's say you have an Amex Platinum, Amex Gold, and Amex Green card. There is an offer for Blue Apron on your Amex Platinum and Amex Gold cards, but not the Amex Green card. When you activate your Amex offers using Savewise, the Blue Apron offer will be applied to both your Amex Platinum and Gold cards automatically.

With Savewise Pro, you can also auto-activate offers from Chase, SimplyMiles, and Rakuten.

Savewise supports syncing and activating card-linked offers from several major banks and reward networks. Once you complete the initial sync setup, your offers stay connected and Savewise automatically displays relevant offers whenever you search for a store.

Currently supported:

  • American Express - Amex Offers across all your Amex cards
  • Chase - Chase Offers for Freedom, Sapphire, and Ink cards
  • Citi - Citi Merchant Offers
  • SimplyMiles - Earn AAdvantage miles on everyday purchases
  • Rakuten - In-Store card-linked cashback offers

Coming soon:

  • Wells Fargo
  • Bank of America

Each bank's offers work a little differently. Amex and Chase offers typically provide statement credits or bonus points when you shop at participating stores. SimplyMiles awards American Airlines AAdvantage miles. Rakuten In-Store offers earn cashback when you use a linked card at physical retail locations.

To set up your sync, visit the Card Offers Sync page and follow the step-by-step instructions for each bank. If you would like to see support for a bank not listed here, let us know at [email protected].

Your credit card and bank login details are 100% secure when using Savewise. This is because Savewise never sees or stores your login information. We do not have it, so it cannot be compromised. We will never ask for it.

When you sync your card-linked offers, the connection happens through your browser extension, which communicates directly with your bank's website. Savewise only receives the offer data itself, such as the store name, discount amount, and expiration date. Your card numbers, login credentials, and personal banking information never pass through our servers.

Similarly, Savewise does not store your full credit card numbers. The only card information we keep is the last four digits, which helps you identify which card has a specific offer.

Savewise has been designed to be as privacy and security conscious as possible. We access and store the absolute minimum amount of information needed to make the service work. We are also permanently ad-free, which means we have no reason to collect or sell your data to third parties.

Savewise Pro is available at the following pricing tiers:

  • Annual: $72 per year ($6/month billed annually)
  • Lifetime: $149 one-time payment

The annual plan is the most popular option and gives you full access to every Pro feature including unlimited offer alerts, 18 months of offer history, auto-activation of card-linked offers, and custom point valuations. You can cancel at any time, and your membership will remain active through the end of your current billing cycle.

The lifetime plan is a one-time purchase that gives you permanent access to all Pro features with no recurring charges. It is the best value if you plan to use Savewise for the long term, and it locks in your access even as we add new features in the future.

Both plans include the same features. The only difference is the billing structure. All core Savewise features, including shopping portal comparison, merchant search, and the browser extension, remain completely free regardless of whether you upgrade to Pro.

Miscellaneous

Cashback Monitor is a useful tool for comparing cashback rates across shopping portals, and it has been around for a long time. Savewise builds on that concept and adds several features that go beyond basic portal comparison, making it a more complete solution for people who want to maximize their online shopping rewards.

Here is what makes Savewise different:

  • Offer history tracking for each individual shopping portal, so you can see how rates have changed over time and decide if now is the right time to buy
  • Offer alerts that notify you by email when a store's cashback rate meets your criteria
  • Card-linked offers from Amex, Chase, Citi, and SimplyMiles displayed alongside portal rates, so you can stack multiple rewards on one purchase
  • Auto-activation of card-linked offers across all your cards (with Pro)
  • Discount gift cards shown alongside portal and card-linked offers for a third layer of savings
  • Grocery coupon clipping that automatically clips digital coupons at supported grocery stores
  • Browser extensions for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari that surface savings while you shop
  • A native iOS app for comparing offers on the go
  • Support for additional portals including Capital One Offers, Kudos, and Rove Miles
  • A modern, responsive design optimized for both desktop and mobile

Savewise is also free to use for core features, with a Pro tier available for power users who want deeper history, unlimited alerts, and automatic offer management.

Yes, absolutely. Many Savewise users also use CardPointers to keep track of their credit card perks, category bonuses, and spending optimization. The two products serve different purposes and work completely independently from each other.

CardPointers focuses on helping you choose the right credit card to use for each purchase based on category bonuses and rotating offers. Savewise focuses on comparing shopping portal cashback rates, surfacing card-linked offers from your banks, and helping you stack multiple rewards on a single purchase. Together, they cover complementary parts of the rewards optimization process.

We have never had a report of the two products conflicting with each other, even when both browser extensions are installed at the same time.

If you ever encounter an issue and suspect it might be related to a conflict between the two products, please reach out to us at [email protected] and we will investigate.

The Savewise browser extension brings cashback and reward information directly into your shopping experience. Instead of having to visit the Savewise website every time you want to check for deals, the extension automatically detects when you are on a supported store's website and shows you the best available offers right there.

Here is what the extension can do:

  • View shopping portal offers for the store you are currently browsing, with rates compared across all 29 supported portals
  • View card-linked offers from your synced banks that apply to the current store
  • Sync card-linked offers from Amex, Chase, Citi, and SimplyMiles
  • Auto-activate card-linked offers across all your cards (Pro)
  • Auto-activate SimplyMiles and Rakuten In-Store offers (Pro)
  • Clip grocery coupons automatically at supported grocery store websites

The extension is lightweight and runs quietly in the background. It only activates on store websites where Savewise has offer data, so it will not slow down your browsing or show popups on unrelated sites.

The Savewise browser extension is available for the following browsers:

  • Chrome (also works on Arc, Edge, and Brave)
  • Firefox
  • Safari

Yes! Savewise has a native iOS app available on the App Store. The iOS app lets you compare shopping portal offers, view card-linked offers, track offer history, and search across 30,000+ stores, all from your phone. Your account and data sync automatically between the app, the website, and the browser extension.

Savewise is also available as a browser extension for Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. The browser extension is the best way to use Savewise on a desktop or laptop, since it surfaces offers automatically while you shop.

An Android app is not currently available, but the Savewise website is fully responsive and works well on Android phones. You can visit getsavewise.com in your mobile browser and add it as a shortcut to your home screen for quick access. To do this, open Savewise in your browser, tap the share or menu icon, and select "Add to Home Screen."

We are actively building an Android app and plan to release it this summer.
